Add this app to your home screen for one-tap access and a full-screen experience.
If you're reading this in Chrome on iPhone, you'll need to open the page in Safari first — only Safari can install apps on iOS.
Safari and Firefox on desktop don't currently support installing web apps.
Prices are subject to change at buyer's discretion and without notice.
Scrap Price Viewer (SPV) is a daily-price service for the scrap metal trade.
If you're a seller, you can browse prices from buyers near you without an account — open the home page, pick a buyer, and scan the grid. The directory groups buyers by owner, so multi-location yards appear together.
If you're a buyer, your account hosts a dashboard where you upload daily prices and manage how your items appear. New buyer accounts require an active subscription — see the Subscriptions section.
Scrap Price Viewer works as an installable app on your phone, tablet, or desktop. Installing gives you a home-screen icon and a full-screen experience without the browser toolbar.
iPhone / iPad (Safari): Tap the Share button (square with an arrow), then Add to Home Screen.
Android (Chrome): Tap the browser menu (three dots), then Install app or Add to Home Screen.
Desktop (Chrome / Edge): Look for the install icon in the address bar, or use the browser menu.
The app updates itself automatically — you'll always see the latest version.
Use the Contact link in the menu to send us a message. Pick a subject from the dropdown; if you choose "Other", a free-text topic field appears.
If you're logged in, your name and email are filled in automatically. Anonymous visitors can also submit the form — just provide an email so we can reply.
After submitting you'll receive a reference number (e.g. SPV-20260526-A1B2C3). Mention it in any follow-up so we can find your original message quickly.
Every account has an email address; some accounts also pick a short login name (3–32 characters, lowercase letters/digits/._-).
On the login page, the Identifier field accepts either. The system looks up your email first, then falls back to your login name — case is ignored on both.
If you've forgotten which you registered with, email always works as long as you can remember it; use Forgot your password otherwise.
On the login page, click Forgot your password? and enter the email you registered with.
We send a one-time reset link to that address. The link expires after a short window, and a new request immediately invalidates any prior unused link — so if you don't see the email, request a fresh one rather than digging through your inbox for an older message.
If the email never arrives, check your spam folder, then Contact support.
After registration you'll receive a verification email. Click the link to confirm the address is yours.
Unverified buyer accounts can browse but cannot upload prices — the dashboard will prompt you to verify first. You can request a fresh verification email from the dashboard when needed; there's a short cooldown between sends to prevent abuse.
The home page shows prices from a single buyer at a time. Use the buyer picker in the header to switch.
If a buyer operates multiple locations, you'll see a location selector after picking the buyer — each location can post its own prices.
Sellers who set up a list of preferred buyers see those first in the picker, with their default preferred buyer auto-selected on every visit.
The Directory page lists every registered buyer, grouped by business owner. Multi-location businesses show all their yards together.
From here you can:
Sellers can toggle between Preferred and All buyers at the top of the page.
Sellers can mark up to ten buyers as preferred from the directory. Preferred buyers appear at the top of the buyer picker and are easy to compare at a glance.
Exactly one preferred buyer may be flagged as default — that buyer is auto-selected when you open the home page, so you land on familiar prices without picking each time.
The home page has a search bar above the price grid. Type any part of an item name to filter the list in real time — only matching items remain visible.
Clear the search field (or tap the X) to show all items again.
The search works on the currently selected buyer's prices. To compare across buyers, switch buyers using the picker and search again — your preferred-buyers list makes this quick.
Tap any item on the home page to open its detail modal. You'll see:
Some buyers cap how far back history is shown. If a buyer has set a shorter window, the picker only offers the ranges they allow.
Items marked CALL show no price — contact the buyer directly. Items with history disabled show the current price but no chart.
Buyers can publish a short Terms & Conditions blurb that appears next to their name as an ⓘ icon. Common uses: pricing notes, business hours, contact-first instructions.
Buyers manage this from Profile → Display preferences — leave the field empty to hide the icon entirely.
Buyer accounts require a paid subscription. Four plans are offered at registration:
All plans give the same dashboard access. Pick recurring if you want set-and-forget billing; pick one-off if you want a fixed end date you can revisit before re-upping.
From Profile → Manage subscription, you can update your card, change plans, see invoices, or cancel.
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then. We'll show a small banner on your dashboard during the final 10 days as a reminder.
If your subscription lapses, the dashboard prompts you to resubscribe on next login; no data is lost.
On the login page, click Forgot your password? and enter the email you registered with.
